Maintain a long mane, naturally.

Maintain a long mane, naturally.

Long hair is a blessing, but taking care of it is your responsibility. Humidity, pollution, stress and lifestyle changes can make your hair dull and lifeless. In order to keep your lock tresses looking black and luscious, follow these natural tips. It definitely takes a lot of dedication, patience, and care – but the results are so worth it!

1) Trim your hair regularly.

When your hair gets split ends, you know it’s time to have a trim. It’s recommended that you trim your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to get rid damaged ends and to prevent split ends from re-splitting. Don’t wait till your hair strands end up like straws, chop them off for a healthier, voluminous look.

2) Treat your hair with a good oil massage.

A good oil massage at least twice a week will help improve blood circulation and in turn stimulate hair growth. Apply Kumarika nourishing hair oil – Hair Fall Control on your tresses. Enriched with the 100% natural extracts of Gotukola, Mukunuwenna, Amla, Aloe and pure Virgin Coconut Oil, it will help nourish and strengthen your hair from its roots.

3) Maintain a healthy diet.

If you want your hair to look bouncy and voluminous, do it with natural sources and supplements, which can be consumed regularly through a balanced diet. What you eat has a significant impact on the health of your hair. Drink lots of water and increase your vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K intake with spinach, sweet potatoes, avocados, almonds, fish, eggs and dairy products.

4) Wash and Dry your hair with care.

First of all, refrain from washing hour hair too often. Frequent showers cause your hair follicles to weaken and hair to fall out. Avoid using hot water as it dehydrates your skin and hair, stripping the scalp of its natural oils. Try to opt for lukewarm water and rinse hair with the coolest temperature. Before you towel-dry your hair, take a wide-toothed come to detangle your hair of any knots. Use microfiber towels which are more gentle on your hair than the regular towels we use.

5) Sleep on a satin pillowcase.

Did you know that when your hair comes into contact with a cotton pillowcase, the resulting friction damages your long tresses? Upgrade it to a comfortable silk/satin pillowcase to

prevent split ends to get soft, tangle-free hair every morning. Instead of a pillowcase, you can also opt for a silk scarf to keep your tresses intact and safe.

6) Brush your hair before bed.

If you want to wake up like Rapunzel, treat your long hair with a bedtime routine. First, use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers to detangle any knots in your hair starting at the ends and working up to the roots. Then, run through your locks with a normal comb or a soft brush, going from the roots to the ends. This will give your locks some space to breathe and spread your scalp’s natural oils throughout your hair.

7) Style your hair right.

If you have long hair, you can always let it down for a glamorous look. If you prefer a more sophisticated style, pull it up into a low bun, or wear a low chignon or ponytail. Tight ponytails, braids, and top/knots create a considerable tension on your hair, causing damage and split ends due to the resulting friction. Avoid wearing any elastic bands at night. Instead, use scrunchies to keep your hair safe in a bun or wear loose braids to avoid any breakage during your sleep.
